About Me!
I am Sima Faraji, a Londoner… came to the UK to study for a master's degree in AI; however, God had a different plan for me, and I was not allowed to finish my studies… Then, my suppressed aspiration for fashion and jewellery design came out again because there is nothing called ‘freedom of outfit’ in my country, and it is difficult to make progress in the fashion industry there…Neverthelessess, here is difficult… Therefore, I started to Google these subjects, and after a few days of looking for these courses and apprenticeships, I decided to roll out the fashion design, of course for now because I need to be a good tailor in the first place in order to be a fashion designer… Thereafter, I learned about a software called, Blender 3D, through a course description, at the University of Moorley… It was Jewellery CAD Design, of course, I could not attend the course because of its time, which was 5-8 pm, and its distance to my home… However, what attracted me to Blender was that while it is a multi-purpose and powerful 3D software, it is open-source and free because I cannot afford software like MatrixGold, which is a Jewellery CAD Design software and is around (£4,500), yet… Well, what would be better than a free and powerful 3D tool, like Blender, to get started on a new and nice journey, like jewellery CAD design?!… Therefore, I started to learn how to implement the jewellery ideas in my mind in a 3D environment… I am still learning new things everyday piece by piece at the same time enjoying my time working on my designs… I hope you will enjoy looking at my designs, too!
The purpose of this website…
This website has two goals to achieve. The first one is to find an apprenticeship in this career, Jewellery CAD Design, because I believe that I am still in the early stages of the jewellery industry and need to gain a lot of knowledge about different types of metals, gems, etc. Therefore, I believe that this portfolio website would demonstrate my enthusiasm and voracity to learn more about both 3D modelling and the technical aspects of jewellery production. However, the second aim, which is dependent on the first one, is to find a jewellery producer to make my pieces alive! :)
